Road 2017-08-19 Saturday 09:00:00 AM B+15-17 30-40 Lee Did you know there are at least 6 different routes to the top of Flowing Springs? I know! Cool - right?! Since I need to stay close to home in the event of a nuclear meltdown (true) I plan to do loops around Birchrunville. I'll tackle the usual ascent as well as Sawmill and Hilltop (toughest climb in Chester County according to Brian Oberholtzer) which are hardpack/gravel. You don't need a cross bike to ride these but 25 mm or larger tires would be best. These sections can be bypassed if you choose. Note - we will not descend on any gravel roads, just climb. I will post a pseudo route shortly but I will have maps (yes maps) of the area roads with loops highlighted and the gravel bits identified. Ride will start at the Butterscotch Bakery in Birchrunville, so you can start with an espresso and end with a croissant! Hope to see some of you there.
